Sparkbird is the project of singer-songwriter Stephan Nance (they/them). Their music has been featured by Obscure Sound, Good Music Radar, Rock the Pigeon, Homoground, the National Audubon Society, and Birding Magazine. Their breakout single “November,” described as “a masterpiece of contemporary musical artistry” by Sinusoidal Music, amassed millions of streams on Spotify in the months following its release.
Sushi Soucy is a Korean-American singer, songwriter, composer, and rising star in the indie pop scene. Known for their distinctive style and moving lyrics, Soucy has gained a following for their relatable themes and vulnerability. Their first song, “Someday (The Crush Song)”, was released in 2019. Some of their popular songs include “Rock in God’s Shoe”, “Average”, and “I Deserve to Bleed”.
Spartan Jet-Plex serves as both a Board Member at the Virginia-Anti-Violence Project and as the Executive Director, Founder and Facilitator of Grimalkin Records in Richmond, Virginia. As a trans, disabled and neurodivergent person with an extensive background in the arts, music, public school special education, vocational counseling, and grassroots organizing., advocacy is part of the work they do in and out of Grimalkin. They have been making music as Spartan Jet-Plex for the last 30 years in addition to a variety of music and artistic collaborations. As both a singer-songwriter and visual artist, they assist artists with support and services as a producer and with mixing and mastering music in addition to a variety of other services and supports within Grimalkin Records.
