The Coast is Queer

The Coast is Queer is Brighton’s annual festival of LGBTQ+ writing. The first of its kind in the UK, the festival creates a space for queer readers, writers and allies to come together in a grassroots celebration of the written word and its ability to illuminate and enrich the life of our community.

Brooklyn Book Festival

The mission of the Brooklyn Book Festival (BKBF) is to celebrate published literature and nurture a literary cultural community through programming that cultivates and connects readers of diverse ages and backgrounds with local, national and international authors, publishers and booksellers.

Flame Con

L.A. Times Festival of Books

The L.A. Times Festival of Books, hosted by the University of Southern California, is the largest literary and cultural celebration of its kind in the country.

Naked Heart

Launched in 2015, Naked Heart is one of the largest LGBTQ literary festivals in the world. This festival that takes places in the Church and Wellesley neighbourhood of Toronto and includes workshops, panels, performances and discussions for writers and lovers of words. Rainbow Book Fair

The New York Rainbow Book Fair is America’s longest-running LGBT book fair and the largest LGBT book event in the country. It has grown every year since its beginning in 2009. It brings together thoughtful, interesting people of all ages, from early teens to those in their 70s and 80s, from a spectrum of countries, ethnicities, gender identities, and viewpoints. It attracts readers and writers, of course, but also publishers, editors, agents, and media attention

Saints & Sinners LGBTQ+ Literary Festival

The Saints and Sinners Literary Festival was founded in 2003 as a new initiative designed as an innovative way to reach the community with information about HIV/AIDS, particularly disseminating prevention messages via the writers, thinkers and spokes-people of the LGBTQ+ community. It was also formed to bring the LGBTQ+ literary community together to celebrate the literary arts.

Steamy Lit Con

Steamy Lit Con is a romance book convention that aims to celebrate diversity in romance. SLC is an event consisting of two full days of building relationships, connecting with other romance readers and authors, and talking about your favorite fictional book bae.

Worldcon

Worldcon is the annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS). It was first held in 1939 and, after a hiatus during WWII, has been held continuously since 1946. The membership of WSFS is every member of the current Worldcon. There is no Board of Directors or Central Committee of WSFS that manages Worldcons or that selects future sites. The sites of future Worldcons are decided by WSFS members via a bidding process that is open to any group that meets a small number of technical requirements.
