Review of Danny will die alone S3

Coming to Dekkoo in February is the final season of Danny Will Die Alone, and I was lucky enough to get a preview.  I had anticipated the same great, witty, funny take on the Gay dating season that we had gotten in previous iterations of the show, but was very pleasantly surprised to see that they added a whole lot of self-reflection and real emotional depth to its offerings.

The show that began as a series of webisodes on Jack Tracy’s OnlyFans page has evolved into a fully developed experience. I think one of the most thoughtful decisions they made was to have the voyeuristic camera that followed Danny around and let him break the fourth wall expand to also cover Matty, the person Danny broke up with at the end of last season.  The dual perspectives lead to some of the funniest moments and also allow the episodes to track the parallel paths the characters are on as they come to a deeper understanding of themselves.

The show covers pretty much every aspect of  Gay dating, from OnlyFans, divorcees, sex parties, polyamory, and more.  There may be moments, a moment here or there, that may upset people, but it all feels honest from the main characters’ perspective.  We never thought of Danny as perfect, but always himself, and that goes a long way.   The ending (and no spoilers but…) felt earned as we see the characters go through it not just in their dating experiences but as they are forced to confront their own issues and grow.

If you like your comedy sarcastic, timely, and raunchy, but with a lot of heart, you have to check out this season of Danny Will Die Alone.

New episodes of Danny Will Die Alone season 3 will be released weekly beginning February 12 on Dekkoo.  Follow Dekkoo on Instagram at @mydekkoo and Jack Tracy on Instagram at @jacktracyofficial and the series @dannywilldiealone.
