N.A. Carson writes an assortment of LGBT+ based novels, with a few exceptions which are more mainstream in content. They believe writing is a never-ending process and authors are continuously growing.
Q When did you start writing? What was your first published work?
Around nineteen, I started taking it seriously, but I’ve been writing since I was eleven. So I’ve been dabbling in writing for a little over two decades. I was a boring child, haha! I just sat in my room and made stuff up. I published Evolution, Demon, and Inferno around the same time.
Q Do you have any writing habits that help you stay productive and focused?
I have to know the ending. If I don’t, I have nothing to work towards, and I usually get stuck. After that, I kind of go with the flow.
Q Do you have tips on working as a self-published author?
Nothing is perfect. It’s okay if it’s not perfect. Go ahead and publish it, or you never will.
Q What authors do you like to read for tips and inspiration?
Strangely enough, I’ve never been a big reader. I’m more of a daydreamer. I read more when I was younger, but as I’ve gotten older, I focus more on my own books as I don’t have much time to read anyone else’s work.
Q You have put out a lot of books what do you think is the best lesson you have learned about writing?
Not everyone is going to like it. I had to accept that. Nearly all my books are LGBT+ so haters come with the genre. I get negative reviews from time to time, and I try not to dwell on them. If I like it, that’s all that matters. So I’ve learned to write for myself.
Q What is the next project you have coming out?
The squeal to Rising Tide is nearly finished and will be posted on Tapas before I make it an ebook. I’m always working on some werewolf stories. A couple of newer ideas are also in the works, so I have too many things going on… I need to learn how to focus on doing one at a time, haha!
Q} if people want more info about you or your books where should they go?
My website is varzanic.com. I’m also on Tapas, Radish Fiction, and Wattpad under Varzanic. My Patreon is also Varzanic. So search for Varzanic, and something will come up.
Final four questions –we ask everybody.
Q) When the zombies take over the world where will you be?
At home, chilling—a perk of not living in a big city, it’ll take a bit for the Zombies to get here.
Q ) What is your favorite Fandom
That’s a hard one. I do like Harry Potter (the author, not as much). The Witcher is one of my favorites at the moment.
Q) What piece of art, be it in the form of music, a book, a film or picture, do you think people must experience before they die?
Anything that challenges you and makes you think. I was raised in a high demand religion, and in college, I was exposed to things that challenged my point of view. Best thing that ever happened to me.
Q) Give one fact that most people would not believe about you?
I write a lot of romance, but I’m the most unromantic person you’ll meet. I like people but at a distance.
