Blending industrial, lo-fi, trip hop and other darker forms of electronic music is no simple task.

Leucrocuta deftly accomplishes it.

Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream expands a trembling empathy with all the power of neutron fission behind its deft mixes and flows. Mind clutter clearing, each track is a squeegee to your muddied third eye but, still leaves you conscious enough to dance your ass off. Each track is a dynamic of intensity from intro to rapturous release to a cool down to ward off any side effects. Layers of sequenced synths, sound textures and pleasant hooks surround you in a warm blanket of glitter jazz. Vocals take on a ethereal feel on each track but, harmonize that border between dream and nightmare. Gibbons and Barrow(Portishead) would share tea and cakes with Leucrocuta for certain.

Leucrocuta has been seen at many shows and Canadian music festivals since 2017. Leucrocuta performs with their partner and Lost Angles label owner, Dot Starkey, a vaporwave producer and 3D artist who releases under the name Hex-a-Decimal.

Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream will find a comfortable home within my play lists. It is my firm belief that it will with yours as well. This thirty-four minute Chastity Platinum: Dead Scream feels neither deceased nor a painful cry but, a vivified harmony cast in pure chromium plate. The EP releases April 14, 2023 on Bandcamp.

Proceeds from tape sales go to Partage Vanier Food Bank in Ottawa, CA. Partage’s mission is to gather and distribute quality food, other necessities of life and resources to individuals and families in need of Vanier.
