What was your first project that made you feel like a real artist and how did you get it?

The first time I felt like a real artist was when I was commissioned to create a full family portrait for a lifelong family friend. I always do portrait commissions, and this was the first time one was sought out.
What is your primary inspiration when creating art?

Imagery that grabs my eye and my own experiences! I love collage as a journaling medium, and I draw a lot of inspiration from collage in my compositions.
What other artists do you use to learn technique?

I am very inspired by Alphonse Mucha, mangaka group CLAMP, Alexandre Cabanel, Lisa Yuskevage, and Takeshi Obata.
Where would you like to see yourself in five years with your art?

I hope that my art is on a platform where it is visible and accessible to more queer and BIPOC folks than those just in my circle- I make this work for us. I hope to open a solo show in either Baltimore or New York and welcome folks who aren’t normally represented in those spaces.
What would your dream project be?

I would love to create a large scale custom painting. Large scale oil painting is my specialty!
